Booster Club Meeting Minutes

Meeting called to order @7:02 PM by Cary Davis, President. A quorum was present.

Parents of players introduced themselves to the Booster Club members.

Barb Wheeler distributed transportation list for upcoming season.

Rob Hench distributed entry forms for the proposed September 23rd Golf Scramble. Cost $60.00/player. Corporate sponsorships available. Rob would like names of players by end of August. Checks made payable to TC Volleyball Boosters. This money will not go toward family personal commitments. August 25th deadline for entry. Discussed getting information in PTSA newsletter and to TCHS staff.

Minutes from July 25th Booster Meeting distributed. Motion made by Cary Davis to accept minutes as printed. David Ruth seconded.

Laurie Trout distributed season work responsibilities. One player family- 4 slots. 2 player family- 7 slots. Laurie asked that Booster members find their own replacement workers if the occasion arises that someone is unavailable to fulfill their work commitment. Jeanine Hench pointed out that Game Table training opportunities are available and that current family work schedule was developed with this in mind.

Laurie also brought to the group’s attention a Fazoli’s fundraising possibility. 15% of money spent on a particular night of the month goes to Booster club.

Liz Ruth, Treasurer, reminded group that there is a $350 fundraising recommendation for those families with one player and $700 for those with two players. Liz will send periodic reminders about this to the group. Liz explained the Kroger card fundraiser and mentioned that she had $10 cards available for purchase at tonight’s meeting. Liz also collected $10 for shorts that each player has ordered.

Lindi Campbell announced a deadline of September 1st for all renewals or new banner sales. Added to list of banners already taken: Gattitown, Vimont Builders, KY Center for Oral Surgery.

Cindy Ethington announced that candy sales won’t begin until school starts. Pay $40 upfront. $2O will go directly into individual’s account.

Sherry Smith distributed football gate schedule. A few spots still available.

Jeanine Hench told group that Dining Club books will be available soon and are currently at the printer. Cost $20. $10 will go into individual accounts.

Lisa Willoughby distributed Clean Sweep Car Wash order forms. One-half of cost goes directly into individual accounts. No “up charge” for larger vehicles. Car window decals will also be available again this year. Cost- $10 per decal. Deadline for Car wash orders and window decals will be the next Booster Club meeting.

Patty Howard and Trish Brown discussed new design for this year’s apparel orders. Orders due at tonight’s meeting.

John Bobel discussed new season program. Sizing was shown from last year’s example program. Deadline for program ads not yet determined.

Teresa McKinley discussed possible team calendar fundraiser. Cost of calendars would be $17 with $5 going into individual accounts.

Cary Davis reminded group of 1st Game Duties. Players arrive one-hour prior to match. First arriving parents need to find janitor, check bathrooms, gather tables, bring small bills for concession purchases, be punctual, clean up the gym after match, and be friendly to all who enter our gym. There will be 2 cash boxes. ( concessions and gate). Don’t mix the two of these. Gate box goes to Liz Ruth at end of evening.

Cary reminded group of those heading committees for this season…Senior Night, Audit team, Set Up, Young Commodores, Catering, Website maintenance, Elementary/Middle School workshops.

Teresa Chinn discussed possible “TCHS Girls Sports T-shirt” as possible fundraiser.
